Our history

2015 - Creation

Both natives of Gard, we met during our training at the DNO in Toulouse. Driven by the same passion and already partners in life, we decided to launch together into the creation of an estate: Domaine Tardieu Ferrand.

Graduated in June 2014, Purpan Engineer and Oenologist for Elsa and Oenologist for Nicolas, the Domaine was officially born in May 2015.

While waiting to be able to build our cellar, we vinify for three years in temporary premises; Our “mini cellar”, as we like to call it, was an old semi-buried barn with ideal storage conditions for wines. We started by vinifying 50 hectoliters or 7000 bottles.

2018 - Construction

Great start for the construction of the Chai! After extensive research we found the ideal land, a central point, obviously: the village of Argilliers, a small town near the Pont du Gard site! A banking establishment is finally taking the risk of following us, so let’s get started!

The team is growing and we are recruiting our first employee to support us in the vineyards. Arrafa joins us and there are three of us working for the Domaine.

2019 - Inauguration

The creation of our private cellar in the middle of our two operating locations was completed in 2019 and we opened our doors on May 5. What a day !! Since 2015 everything has been implemented for this big day, the work is completed, we are organizing a farmers' market, a concert, activities for children... For communication we are asking the few subscribers to our social networks, we are little known so we distributed thousands of flyers, we put up posters... On the big day (those present remember it), the wind unfortunately decided to join in... In the early morning we were desperate; all this waiting, all this work, has the day been wasted?! And that's where the magic happens, when no one believes in it anymore, the efforts are rewarded! You responded! That day, more than 800 people showed up at the Domaine braving the storm to discover our new Domaine and our products.

2019 - Wine tourism

We created the Domaine with a specific objective: Limit the quantity in order to give it all the necessary attention and develop direct sales as much as possible. For this, the shop is open 7/7 during the summer season and 6/7 the rest of the year. In order to share our passion with you and help you discover our Domaine, we are setting up a series of events from the opening. In 2019 we are organizing 4 winegrower evenings and 3 open days! Great start to the festivities!!

2020 - Covid

We had planned everything, anticipated everything except... The global pandemic! We who relied mainly on sales at the store, we can no longer receive you... After all this work, that's not going to stop us! We learn how to develop a website, we set up distance sales, we deliver to your home, we develop other sales channels, in short we shake things up and as usual, new and loyal customers are there!

2021 - Renewal

Despite the health conditions we manage to organize our events, barrier gestures, masks, health passes, difficult for us to impose so many rules on you but you know that it is not our doing, as usual you are part of the The adventure and your encouragement never stop! Impossible to continue to take care of the 7/7 at the shop alone in addition to the rest, the events are growing so we hire Joana to support us on this part, there are 4 of us working permanently for the Domaine.

2022 - Development

Everything is going well, we exceed the objectives and then produce 50,000 bottles per year, 80% of which are sold directly to the store and the rest to our restaurant partners or local wine merchants. We now organize 9 events per year, 3 open days and 6 wine evenings for which we are often sold out. You are always by our side to encourage us and we continue to take steps forward.

2023 - Biological

Since 2015 we have no longer used weedkillers, have reestablished tillage, we try to promote the development of biodiversity... After several years of conversion, 2023 is our first vintage (officially) in organic farming.

We note: 3 beautiful open days, 6 winegrowers' evenings in full, our induction into the prestigious Gard aux chefs association, our selection to represent the Gard department in the free "Paysans d'Occitanie" which was accompanied by our placement ahead at the regional Agricultural Show in Toulouse, new vintages including Les Réboussiers, great collaborations...

Domaine Tardieu Ferrand is a link between two people but also between two farms: one near Uzès, on the first foothills of the Cévennes and the other in the southernmost part of the Rhône Valley.

Our logo is the representation of our history: “An F combined in a T” or “a T combined in an F” to represent the union of two people and two places of exploitation and a triangle representing these two vineyards and this central point: the project of a lifetime.
“During my general training at the Purpan engineering school, I had the chance to explore varied fields and increase my sense of adaptation but, passionate about viticulture and oenology, I I chose to also acquire technical knowledge by also following oenologist training. A native of Gard and from a family of wine growers, I know the Languedoc terroir and the Côtes du Rhône well. »
Elsa Tardieu Ferrand, graduate of the agricultural engineering school of Purpan and the national oenologist diploma.
“Coming from a family of cooperative winegrowers from Gard, I have always been attracted by the cultivation of vines and the development of the Languedoc terroir. With the aim of one day opening my own cellar, I chose to deepen my technical knowledge (vine growing, winemaking) thanks to a BTS in viticulture and oenology and a national oenologist diploma. In order to complete my training, I also followed the professional commercial license offered by SupAgro”
Nicolas Ferrand, holder of a BTS Viticulture oenology, a professional license, Sales Manager and wine distribution networks and the national oenologist diploma.
